So, you'd like to know more about me? Well, there's a lot to know, but as I was sitting at my kitchen counter working on this exact page, (one of those 3rd glass of wine at 1:20 AM kind of situations) I found myself really stuck on what to write here. It feels pretty strange, writing about yourself as if someone else is actually going to be interested! I'm really not assuming anything of the sort. Blogging is a funny thing though, I always want to know more about the bloggers I follow on a personal level. So, just in case you really feel that way about me, here are a few "Jess" details.

What made you want to start a blog?

It had been a pipe dream of mine for a while. This blog is my creative outlet (snoozefest, I'm sure you haven't heard that answer before). It's true though, it's where I get to share and express my love of, well - everything. But for starters, fashion, food, craftiness, decor, vintage, Chicago, travel....the list goes on. At the end of the day, it's one of my very time-consuming hobbies.

Are you starting your own blog? First of call, congratulations! Second, be sure to check out the 5 things I wish I'd known when I started blogging!

Where did the name, "The Golden Girl", come from?

It just came to me when I was laying in bed one night. It wasn't that earth-shattering of a realization though, I'm obsessed with gold. Jewelry, shoes, clothing, nail polish, retrievers (especially retrievers), etc. You name it. If it comes in gold, I'll take one, please.

Are you a full-time blogger?

(I'm always dying to know the answer to this one!) I recently left my 9-5 career in advertising, as I discovered that it wasn't the right path for me anymore. This little blog right here was what allowed me to discover my dream and go for it. Now, I do freelance writing, marketing, and consulting. I also am a Fashion Editor for one of my very favorite websites, The Everygirl

Where are you from?

Um, how much time do you have? I'm originally from Oregon, but grew up most of my life in Arizona. Spent summers in Kentucky. Went to college in Indiana (Go Hoosiers!) and now I live in the amazing city of Chicago.

Who takes your pictures?

My boyfriend, Neal used to take them. He's a gem. You probably wouldn't be reading this blog right now without him! Now, my friend Kelly takes most of them! She's also a blogger and an amazing photographer.

Where will you be in 5 years?

I have absolutely no idea, and that's part of the fun! But wherever I am, I hope to have a French Bulldog named Henry.

Favorite food?

Anything with ranch dressing on it and dim sum from Chinatown (not together, of course).

Favorite place?

Tie between Italy & Ireland.

Favorite item in my closet?

My leather jacket from Italy and my Paige Denim boyfriend jeans.

Anything I missed? Comment below and I'd be happy to answer!
